Parent Involvement

Hallett Cove East Primary School enjoys strong support from the school community. We greatly value the participation of parents and other family members in supporting our various school programs and encourage parents to participate in our Governing Council, Sports, Canteen and general Volunteering programs.

According to the expectation of DE policies all volunteers are required to participate in a DHS approved Child Related Criminal History Check process before commencing volunteering in the school. This is a very simple process that is done through the school. Please contact the front office for more information.

Parents also need to complete an online Reporting Abuse and Neglect training course for Volunteers and Start Volunteer Training online as part of the DE requirements. Volunteers also need to read and sign off that they understand on a proforma. Information about Volunteering, Confidentiality, Duty of Care and Work Health and Safety issues. All information regarding training is contained in a Training pack for Volunteers. These are available at the front desk.

The school maintains an up to date database of Volunteers who work in the school. The student wellbeing leader also leads a Be You Community Action Team.
